The Things We Kept-A Portrait Series About Memory,Meaning, and the Objects That

The Things We Kept is a fine art portrait project created by Wicked Depiction Photography that explores the sentimental objects we carry through life and the memories attached to them. Each participant will be photographed with a meaningful object and invited to share the story behind it.

The finished project will be compiled into a beautiful coffee table book and select images may be featured in a future gallery exhibition.

Anyone with an object that holds personal meaning.

The item doesn't need to be valuable, rare, or visually impressive.

In fact, the most meaningful objects rarely are.

We're looking for stories about:

• Family heirlooms
• Childhood toys
• Concert tickets
• Letters and cards
• Jewelry
• Books
• Photographs
• Military memorabilia
• Handmade gifts
• Keepsakes from loved ones
• Objects connected to important life moments

If you've kept it for years and can't quite explain why you could never let it go, it probably belongs in this project.

What Does Participation Include?

Your project fee includes:

• A fine art portrait session at Wicked Depiction Photography Studio
•  Inclusion in The Things We Kept project
•  One digital image from your session
•  A copy of the finished coffee table book upon publication
•  The opportunity to have your portrait included in a future gallery exhibition
• Additional images, artwork, and products will be available for purchase but are never required.

Once accepted into the project, you'll schedule a portrait session and complete a short questionnaire about your object and its story.

Before your session, we will have a virtual consultation where we'll discuss:

• The history of the object
• Why you've kept it
• The memories attached to it
• Any ideas you may have for your portrait

Sessions are designed to be relaxed and conversational. You do not need modeling experience.

During the session, we'll create a series of portraits featuring both you and your object. Some images may be simple and intimate. Others may be more artistic or conceptual depending on the story being told.

The goal is not simply to photograph an object.

The goal is to preserve the memory connected to it.

To participate in this project:

• A signed model release is required.
• The project fee of $99+tax must be paid in full to reserve your session.
• Participants must agree to allow their images and story to be used in the coffee table book, promotional materials including social media, and potential gallery exhibition.
• Participants retain the option to remain anonymous in the written story if preferred.
• Objects must be safe and legal to transport and photograph.

Because this project is intended for publication and exhibition, participation is not possible without a signed release.

We live in a world where everything feels temporary.

Photos disappear into social media feeds.

Messages get deleted.

Voicemails are lost.

But somehow, certain objects remain.

They become anchors to people we've loved, places we've been, and moments we never want to forget.

This project is a celebration of those objects.

More importantly, it's a celebration of the stories behind them.

Because sometimes the things we keep are really just the people, places, and memories we're trying to hold onto.
